Pizza Hut and KFC

When I am in America, Pizza Hut and KFC do not sound appetizing. In China, they sound DELICIOUS. Yesterday, we went to Yantai, a bustling city about two hours away from where we are staying. We ate lunch in a restaurant that served "American food" and then shopped in an underground mall. There was a Walmart inside the mall. Although it was very different from the Walmarts in America, we were able to buy some of the American food that I have been craving: apples, ritz crackers, chips ahoy, and oreos. YUM!!!! We ate dinner at Pizza Hut, the nicest Pizza Hut I have ever seen. The servers sat us down at a table with glass plates and silverware (no chopsticks!) and gave us a HUGE menu. The menu included escargots, steak, lamb, clam chowder with a puffed pastry, seafood, shrimp, and cheesecake. The cheese pizza was in the "others" section!

Today we plan on going to the small down close to the facility where we are staying to go souvenir shopping, eat ice cream at KFC(its funny, in china there is one on almost every corner, kind of like starbucks in America), and get our nails done. Life is so hard sometimes!!! Tomorrow, the kids come. I have heard that they will be older than last week and that it will be easier, but I am sure that each age group has its own challenges.
